SUMMER CAMP DESCRIPTIONS

Camp ClubSport

This fun afternoon camp starts with lunch and a visit to the gymnasium for games, followed by a visit to the splash park (weather permitting).

Basketball Camps With Norm Nolan

Intro to Basketball Camp — This camp will get children started in basketball. We'll work on the very basic fundamentals of the sport, such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and defensive positioning. We'll also work on coordination and footwork, basic running technique, and stretching exercises.

Basketball Skills Camp — This camp is the best way for kids to work on their game. Camp is split into 15-minute segments to work specifically on dribbling, passing, shooting, defense and defensive positioning, rebounding, and boxing out. Proper warm-up, cool-down, and stretching exercises will also be taught. Finally, players will play 1-v-1, 2-v-2, and 3-v-3 live situations and finish with a 5-v-5 game.

Teen Basketball Camp — This camp is the best way for kids to work on their game. Depending on the advancement of the players, Coach Nolan may lead them through more advanced drills and training to prepare them for school or club teams.

Bricks 4 Kidz Camps

Remote Control LEGO® Vehicles — Making it move is the name of the game. Campers will use fascinating and challenging LEGO components to create dynamic vehicles, inventions, machines, and more. Not only will they enjoy building it all, they'll also learn the basic working principles of many ingenious devices that are part of our everyday lives. Furthermore, kids will learn how to magnify, diminish, and redirect force to move objects at different speeds and in different directions. Lastly, everyone will take home a custom mini-figure.

Jr. Robotics Camp — Turn your next LEGO® creation into a robot programmed to do exactly what you tell it to do. This camp features the use of LEGO building bricks and computer programming for a week that combines real-life skills with real kid fun! Using drag-and-drop, icon-based software, the WeDo software introduces children to the world of computer programming and robotics that will equip them to succeed in a technology-based marketplace.

Cooking Camp

For all those little future chefs out there, if you love being busy in the kitchen, then this is the camp for you! Kids will learn recipes from scratch for the whole family. New recipes will be introduced each day and kids will learn how to plan, shop, measure, cut, mix, clean, and — best of all — enjoy! Camp includes the lunch they'll prepare and eat. Space is limited to 12 spots.

Construction Camp

Who doesn't like to build things? This camp is all about being introduced to and working with tools to create individual and group projects. Kids will improve hand-eye coordination, dexterity, problem solving skills, creative thinking, independence, self-esteem, and social skills.

Mad Science Camps

Chemistry — Come inside and see what spectacular solutions the Mad Scientist has been whipping up! Little scientists will experiment with some crazy chemistry, learn about exothermic reactions, and create awesome crystals. They'll have a cool time with dry ice, make an oozing batch of gooey slime, and see what pops up in our explosions lab!

Rocketry — Blast off! Little rocket scientists will experience a super-powered week full of rockets and aerodynamics! Kids will invent, build, launch, and take home paper rockets, bottle rockets, chemical reaction rockets, and more. They'll get to construct and keep an official Mad Science Skyblazer II Rocket — just like the one we'll launch over 100 feet in the air!

Detective Science & Funky Physics — As junior secret agents, we'll use the science of detection to analyze crime scenes, send secret messages to friends using Morse code, Braille, and flag signals. We'll also build security alarms to stop burglars in their tracks and even master awesome spy tech like disappearing ink, metal detectors, and motion alarms. Once we're done solving crime, we'll get hands-on with physics as we engineer giant pyramids, super-strong arches, and giant skyscrapers made of pasta; master our center of gravity and transform into a human pulley system; and learn to build armor for an egg – right before we drop it off the roof!

Specialty Camps

Princesses & Tiaras Camp — Your little princess will love royal camp! Your child will spend each day engaged in games and activities to let their imagination fly and become their very own fairy princess.

Dance Camp — Description coming soon.

Superheroes & Star Wars Camp

We're on a mission to save the galaxy! This week of camp is all about the most popular superheroes and Star Wars characters. We'll spend the day engaged in games and activities that require us to use our imaginations to become superheroes!

Queen of Arts Painting Camps

Passport Around the World — Pack your bags for the imaginary trip of a lifetime! Little travelers will get their "passport" stamped each day as we journey across the world to visit different countries to learn about their famous artists, cuisine, traditions, and fun children's games. Kids will also be guided step-by-step as they create a canvas painting that represents a particular country. On the final day of camp, we encourage parents to come for an art showcase of paintings children created throughout the week. A minimum of 10 students must be met for camp to run as scheduled.

Take a Trip to the Zoo — Let's explore the zoo and learn everything about the extraordinary animals in it! Each day of camp will focus on a different animal so that little zoo keepers can learn fun facts about pandas, tigers, and all of their friends. They'll then be guided step-by-step as they paint that day's feature animal, and they'll get to name their new friend as well! Parents are encouraged to come to the last 15 minutes on the final day of class for a showcase displaying the incredible works of art created by all that week. A minimum of 10 students must be met for camp to run as scheduled.
